This year we’ve simplified the program, expanded the telescopic of key awards, and created new ways to gloat increasingly places that matter – just in time for the 2018 ribbon season. We’re looking for transformational projects, inspiring communities, and resilient historic places – whether they are landscapes, structures, complexes, districts, First Nations reserves and communities, towns or cities. Our Awards are unshut to not-for-profits and charities, private enterprises and governments, including municipalities and First Nations governments – anyone who is bringing historic places to life in ways that goody people and communities. Do you know projects that are getting local or regional attention, but deserve recognition on the national stage? What well-nigh unconfined historic places in remote regions that increasingly Canadians should hear about? Bring them on! The inspiring sites and success stories you nominate will be eligible to be longlisted and shared nationally as Places Worth Sharing in our publications and on social media. We will then invite people and organizations associated with longlisted places to consider making a increasingly detailed submission for review by our self-sustaining juries. People and organizations associated with winning projects and places will be invited to participate in new Winners Circle session at the National Trust Conference 2018 (Fredericton, NB, October 2018) and will be prestigious at special awards events. The Prince of Wales Prize recognizes communities and their local governments for the successful heritage stewardship of a town, city, rural region, First Nation reserve or community, or district. Special consideration will be given to places with a long track record and demonstrated results in bringing heritage to life through a combination of political will, good policy-making and constructive resider engagement. Learn more: Prince of Wales Prize The Ecclesiastical Insurance Cornerstone Awards bring national sustentation to exemplary projects and places that contribute to quality of life and sense of place, and illustrate the viability of heritage buildings and sites for traditional or new uses. The awards will be presented in two categories, with the potential for multiple awards in each category: A: Projects completed between 2012 and 2017 that have creatively renewed or transformed historic places or landscapes for new uses. B: Owners and organizations using historic places or landscapes in ways that illustrate no-go resilience, significance, and goody to a polity over a sustained period of time, with a successful track record of 10 years or more. Special consideration will be given to places and projects that reflect one or increasingly of the pursuit principles: The involvement of youth; Social innovation or enterprise; Environmental benefits; Cultural diversity.
